Meet Your Tutor

Hello, hat-lovers. I’m Rebecca Share.

I’m a qualified milliner and Founder of Hat Atelier. I started my hat-making adventure from scratch, just like you. I fell for the creative freedom millinery has to offer. I loved that within hours I could create a show-stopper to completely transform an outfit. Once I learnt to master materials, I found that the style possibilities were endless and the potential to take techniques to the next level were unlimited.

I launched my millinery brand back in 1997, setting out to share my developed
techniques and contribute to the industry I adore. I wanted to make hat making
an ‘at-home’ craft that complete beginners could master and love.

Fast forward 25+ years and I have taught thousands of students from all over the world. Many of my past students used skills to launch new careers and go on to build successful millinery brands of their own!

I made mistakes (lots) along the way and I learnt (a lot) from them. Guess what? I still love that buzz when I see one of my creations topping off the perfect outfit. That feeling never grows old.

I still love seeing my clients do well in the Fashions on the Field. I still love challenging myself to devise new techniques, pursue fresh ideas and set trends. But my most favourite thing about hat-making is passing on my skills to other hat-lovers like you. Sharing what I’ve learnt so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did.

Nothing beats the sense of pride I feel when one of my students takes the leap and achieves what they set out to do. So often, they achieve more than they knew possible and that makes my heart
sing!
